An aperitivo is often described as similar to the American happy hour, but it's much more than that when it's a Brigadoon gathering.
Brigadoon is bringing together a peerless group of entrepreneurs and thought leaders for our third aperitivo in Washington, DC.
We will gather at Sid Mashburn - Georgetown on Thursday, March 27, 2025, for cocktails and conversation with Sid Mashburn.
Sid Mashburn is an American fashion designer and founder of the menswear brand Sid Mashburn, based in Atlanta.
Growing up in small-town Mississippi, Sid began his design career in New York in the mid-1980s as J.Crew's first men's designer. He has also designed for other brands, including Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Lands' End.
His interest in tailoring and vintage clothing (and love of the hunt) made up for his lack of formal design training, and he designed J.Crew's first heritage piece—the Barn Jacket.
Sid Mashburn's mission is to improve people's lives by making them feel great through their clothing. The brand's philosophy is that people don't need many choices but the right ones. Namely, he makes clothes for his customers that can take them from Mississippi to Manhattan to Milan and back again without making them look or feel out of place. His decades of experience as a shopper and designer have given him unique insights into the evolution of men's style and retail.
This gathering is free to attend with registration and is designed for meeting old friends and making new friends.
Plus, this is a chance to get smarter about how to dress and take advantage of an old-school men's specialty clothing store, where you can pick up a pair of jeans or get measured for a custom suit.
